Arera Smart is an AI-powered service that simplifies energy management by providing users with clear insights into their consumption. By addressing the common confusion around energy bills, it helps households optimize usage, reduce costs, and adopt more sustainable habits.
Goal
The platform enhances energy awareness through AI-driven monitoring, predictive analytics, and personalized comparisons. Users gain a clear breakdown of appliance-level consumption and receive forecasts to better manage their budgets.
Design process
Through research on Italian energy users, the team identified key pain points and structured solutions using user stories and an Impact-Effort Matrix. A “learning by doing” approach refined AI features, ensuring they delivered real value.

Arera Smart provides real-time energy tracking, forecasts future consumption, and compares usage to similar households. By making energy data intuitive and actionable, it empowers users to take control of their consumption and reduce their carbon footprint.
